Plaster‑Weld is a high‑strength polyvinyl acetate (PVA) homopolymer bonding agent used to help new plaster stick securely to surfaces that normally would not bond well.
It’s often called “the pink glue for plaster” in the field.
Creates a chemical and mechanical bond between old surfaces and new plaster.
Prevents delamination, cracking, and peeling of plaster.
Allows plaster to adhere to non‑porous or low‑porosity surfaces.
Ideal for patching old walls.
Ensures the new patch blends and bonds with the existing surface.
Works on:
Poured concrete
Concrete block
Precast concrete
Tilt‑up panels
Prevents plaster from “shearing off” smooth concrete.
Useful when resurfacing old brick walls with a plaster finish.
Especially helpful when:
Doing veneer plaster over drywall
Repairing damaged drywall areas
Improves adhesion and reduces risk of blistering.
Works on most sound, non‑glossy paint.
For glossy paint, light sanding is recommended before applying.
Used when plastering over:
Wood lath
Plywood
Wood trim transitions
Helps prevent separation due to wood movement.
Wall and ceiling repairs
Skim coating
Veneer plaster systems
Restoring old brownstone or pre‑war building interiors
Patching around electrical boxes, plumbing penetrations
Repairing damaged plaster after water leaks
Clean surface (dust, grease, loose material removed).
Brush or roll on a thin, even coat of Plaster‑Weld.
Allow it to become tacky (usually 30–60 minutes).
Apply plaster while still tacky, not fully dry.
Strong, reliable bond
Saves time — no need for mesh or scratch coat in many cases
Works on difficult surfaces
Pink color makes coverage easy to see
Compatible with most gypsum and lime plasters

Plaster bonding agent interior "plaster-weld". Bonds new plaster to any clean, structurally sound, interior surface. High performance bonding of one-coat finish plaster and/or two and three coat work to concrete ceilings, walls, columns, beams, and other structurally sound surfaces.
Prepares the surface to allow you to plaster directly to concrete over electric radiant heat cable, and to bond cement mortar beds to smooth concrete for installation of rigid foam insulation. Can be used over paints having oil, rubber or vinyl bases and over silicone-treated surfaces as well as latex paints. Covers approximately 300 to 400 sq. ft. per gallon depending on method of application, temperatures, porosity and texture of the substrate.
