A rebar chair is a plastic or metal support used to hold reinforcing steel (rebar) at the correct height inside concrete forms. It ensures the rebar stays off the ground and is properly positioned so the concrete fully surrounds it.
Ensures proper concrete cover (usually 1"–3" depending on code).
Keeps the reinforcement in the correct place so the structure stays strong.
Correct spacing prevents corrosion and ensures load transfer.
Every concrete slab with rebar needs chairs.
